Dear John Wilson OBE, Simon Ward, Molly Smith, and Lisa in accounts,
It is with regret that we must instruct you to remove our names from the official London Fashion Week catwalk show schedule.
Unfortunately we do not have the funds, backing or irrepressible-burning-desire to show in catwalk format this season, and apologise for any inconvenience this causes you at the BFC.
Following an Extraordinary General Meeting held last week in the central aisle of the Sacre-Coeur in Paris, a unanimous decision was reached to remove the primary focus of our design partnership from our ‘Julian and Sophie’ label, and it will never again grace the hallowed runways of London Fashion Week. By next season we will be transformed.
We know this unexpected news will be upsetting to all of you at 5 Portland Place who have grown to love our fashion label, especially to you Simon, but you must not blame yourselves unduly for its departure: You must go on without us, and continue the good work you do.
We know we owe you money from previous season’s shows, and we assure you that this and other debts weigh very heavily on our conscience. We will be sending a detailed repayment plan to you in the next two weeks, and will resolve this situation as quickly as we can.
Thank you very much for all your help and support, and best of luck with this forthcoming London Fashion Week.
Yours sincerely, Professor Julian Roberts |
